New Patient Initial Consultation
The new patient consultation includes the initial psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic assessment, and a discussion of treatment recommendations. Dr. Jackson will collaborate with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to fit your unique needs, which may include a combination of interventions such as: medication management, psychotherapy, health and lifestyle modifications, nutritional guidance, sleep and stress management interventions, speciality lab testing, breathing exercises, body-mind techniques, other holistic treatment modalities, and/or if permitted by the patient - close coordination with your other healthcare providers or therapists who are a part of your team.

30-Minute Focused Follow-Up
After discussing the best plan of care at the initial consultation, we can schedule follow-up visits to discuss how the treatment is working and make adjustments as needed. We’ll review how medications or other interventions are working, address any emerging concerns, and make any necessary changes to support your well-being, to help you reach the goals that are actually important to you. The frequency of follow-up varies from person to person, usually occurring at intervals as often as ~weekly to every six months depending on your needs.

50-Minute Extended Follow-Up
Some patients opt for a follow up appointment that adds extra time, as well as these appointments can involve Combined Therapy +/- Medication Management. Dr. Jackson and the patient may decide that therapy, or a combination of therapy and medications, may be helpful. Patients who would just like additional time to discuss their concerns during follow up appointment, may also choose this format. We work with expert therapists in the community, as well as Dr. Jackson herself is trained in both psychodynamic therapy and behavioral techniques, such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. Dr. Jackson takes on only a limited number of therapy patients at a time in order to ensure thoughtful, dedicated care to all patients, with availability to be able to get our patients in quickly. We often work closely with your therapist in the community to provide team-based, collaborative treatment. The frequency of these sessions can vary from person to person, on average ~weekly to every other week are the most common intervals if therapy is involved.

We are not currently in-network with any insurance plans. However, some insurance plans provide out-of-network reimbursement for our visits. We provide our patients with superbills to provide to their insurance companies. See our FAQ page for tips on how to talk to your insurance company to check if you have out-of-network benefits.
Why choose an out-of-network psychiatrist?
We are not currently in-network with any insurance plans. However, if your insurance has out-of-network benefits, it may cover a portion of the cost of your visits. See the FAQ page for more information on how to talk to your insurance plan to determine your reimbursement eligibility. What are the benefits of working with an out-of-network psychiatrist?
Access to Customized Treatment Options: Out-of-network psychiatrists may be able to offer a wider range of treatment options beyond what is typically covered by insurance. Insurance plans can sometimes deny coverage for some mental health treatments, even when you and your doctor have determined that the treatment is beneficial.
Reduced Wait Times and More Flexible Scheduling: in-network psychiatrists can sometimes have long wait times for appointments. Opting for an out-of-network psychiatrist may provide faster access to care, ensuring you receive timely treatment and more flexible scheduling options.
More Time Dedicated to Your Care: Out-of-network psychiatrists can often provide longer and more frequent sessions than what insurance plans may cover, allowing more time for in-depth discussions and comprehensive treatment. They minimize time spent on insurance-related tasks and instead focus on delivering thoughtful and personalized care. This also means your psychiatrist can be more accessible and responsive to any questions or concerns that may arise during your treatment.
Enhanced Privacy and Confidentiality: By choosing an out-of-network psychiatrist, you may have added privacy and confidentiality since your medical information is not directly shared with insurance companies or third-party payers.
